Exmouth is a traditional seaside resort, with over two miles of golden sands and an esplanade with plenty of activity for the children.
At the center of the Esplanade is the Diamond Jubilee Memorial Clock Tower, surrounded by floral displays and sheltered gardens.
As well as bathing, the seafront around Exmouth is a favourite for watersports.
Two miles to the north of Exmouth is the National Trust property of A-La-Ronde. This 45 ft high, sixteen sided, Byzantine style, thatched house has twenty rooms set out around a central octagonal hall. A-la-Ronde was built in 1795 by eccentric spinster cousins - Jane and Mary Parminter; both the house and its contents are a result of their Grand Tour of Europe.
